E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream worldwide, with 53.6 million tons of e-waste been recorded in year 2019, alone. Only 8% - 9% of WEEE products are being recycled in Sri Lanka. There is high concern over what happens to the remaining waste. Lack of reliable data in this regard leads to the assumption that this waste is being stockpiled and dumped in land areas.
